Okay, I know I’ve been very neglectful of this poor blog over the last few months but things have been rather hectic!

We had the most wonderful summer with lots of family and friends (and mud!).

It all started with a trip to Carmarthen for Mark’s graduation, the weather was amazing and we had a great few days. Needless to say, I am very proud of Mark for graduating with a 2:1!

Next came the Jubilee celebrations when, despite the weather forecast, we thought it’d be a good idea to go up to London to party with the Queen (or something like that!). But they were right, and it rained. Lots. But it was a wonderful day of 1950s fancy-dress, great music, an amazing parade and a vintage market!

It only took a week to dry out after!

Then we had a massive family celebration at my cousin’s wedding. It was a fantastic weekend with more great music, a Mehndi party, an afternoon of throwing eggs and flour at Aleem and then a beautiful ceremony.

Congratulations Aleem and Samina Talakshi!

And lets not forget the Olympic and Paralympic games! We were lucky enough to get tickets to the Paralympics and I saw the swimming, twice, and wheelchair basketball.

While my parents and some siblings got to see the Paralympic athletics AND the closing ceremony!

There was one VERY muddy week of camping at Soul Survivor as well! Mark and I went with our friends youth group to help out (which mainly consisted of chasing an eight year old, a 6 year old and a 4 year old around a swampy campsite!). It was lovely to spend the week with good friends and do lots of talking about the next piece of news….

In August, Mark and I went away for the week and spent a day visiting the village that my Grandparents used to live in. Mark had planned to take me on a rowing boat down a river that we used to go on as kids.

It was a beautifully sunny day and it was perfect, we took our picnic and went off down the river, with some swans! After we’d had lunch, Mark got down on one knee (as much as he could in a small rowing boat!) and proposed to me, so we’re thrilled to announce that we’re getting married! The only trouble now, is that I have the last year of my degree to complete in the next few months but wedding planning is proving a lot more fun!

This great summer was topped off when at the beginning of Autumn a close friend of mine got married. It was a beautiful service. So, congratulations to Zoe and Jonathan as well!

So, all of this is why this poor little blog has been rather neglected for a while! (Not to mention coming back to uni, starting a new job and Christmas!)

But there we go, Happy New Year to all you out there!
